Going Soaring

The sport of gliding is an exhilarating, spectacular yet serene flying experience. Gliders take to the air like birds with wings outstretched, soaring on rising air currents, immersed in three dimensional space and flying silently with an eagle’s view of the world. If that doesn’t make you want to fly, we don’t know what will!

If you’ve decided you want to learn how to fly, this section will help you with to understand how motorless sailplanes can cover more than 1000km or reach heights of over 30,000ft (9km) in a single flight! The links on the right will answer the most common questions. Please explore the articles, and remember that if you have any questions not answered here, you can contact us and we’ll be able to help you out.

Watch out though! Once you’ve had your first flight, you will be hooked and your time on the ground will be spent gazing skywards, counting down the hours until you can join the birds once again.

"If flying were the language of man, soaring would be its poetry."
